DIVINE BY BLOOD by P.C. Cast

I really love this book!!  It has everything:  Romance; Action; Lies; Deceit; Questions of Honor; Drama; Magic; and Power.  With ingredients of this level, how can anyone go wrong?  As is her norm, Author P.C. Cast's writing style is amazing.  She can write about a child/teen as well as write to a child/teen.  And anyone with kids know's that's no easy feat!

Our heroine is thrown into the dreaded Strange New World and must overcome a serious case of culture shock.  On top of that, we read about a mother in a great deal of emotiona pain and yet who strives to help her daughter find her own way in life.  The fact that everything turns Out OK in The End is a major accomplishment of the loving mother and the growning teen, not to mention a huge testiment to the author's talent.  Far too easily a rebellious teen can loose a reader's sympathy.  Not so in P.C. Cast's novel!

Is this a love story?  Of course it is, flavored with P.C's trademark untamed passion penned with a smooth, sensual feel.  Indeed, a master's hand at the helm.  Cosmic!

MIDNIGHT BRIDE by Tanya Hanson

A Western "cat and mouse" story.  I loved it.  I enjoyed the stalk, pounce, and evade, stalk, pouce, evade elements greatly.  However, there were a few times that I found myself flipping pages to move the story forward.  It lagged a bit, for this reader, although the overall story was catchy.  As the ending fell into place, I realized that this book's subtext has a profound message to pass to its readers.  There are moral points and messages that deal not only in the books historical context but are relative to these often confusing times.  Historically correct, fascinating, and topical.  Very good work

FOOL'S GOLD by Ericka Scott

WOW!  This book is AWESOME!  Author Ericka Scott pens the story in a manner that brought his reader directly into the story.  I felt I was there. She has a way of crafting descriptions and "landscape" in a manner that is astonishing.  I could feel the moist kiss of the fog, the cool breath of the wind.  All I can say about this book is:  OUTSTANDING!!

SNOWDRIFT by Kris Eton

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.  It flowed easily and was very romantic, and Lord knows I'm a sucker for romance.  One nit that I have it the ending.  It was somewhat inconclusive.  This reader needed more.  More ending or more conclusion?  Perhaps an epilogue was in order?  Anyway, this suspenseful romance kept me hanging on every word.  Who were the bad guys?  Would everyone survive?  Very intense and a recommended read for those who like a mystery tied into their passion.
